Ender Lily
details & breakdown
Story
A 3D project designed around a 2D concept made by Binary Haze for their 2D Action RPG: ENDER LILIES.
This project was to broaden my horizons and go from a hyper-realistic, male face to a stylized, babydoll female.
There were many moments I had to hold back from making more facial details and even a time where I went too far and had to smooth down all the details I had previously made.
It was a fine line to walk in order to make a soft and innocent face that did not look too human and not too inhuman.

Hair Cards

This was my first time using hair cards.
There was a lot of trial and error and still a lot of room for improvement,
I wanted to keep the hair less realistic and to clump more like the reference material.
Extras (Halo)
The ornament halo is inspired by Alphonse Mucha's poster for Princess Hyacinthe. It is meant to help with bringing out the simplicity of the pose by contrasting it with its own complexity.
UV Layout (extras)

This piece was meant to just be an addition but was made with the same intention of being mindful of poly count.
That being said, poly count could have been further reduced with reduction of pearl polygons and more emphasis on baking normals.
Despite this, UV layout was still optimized for the extra decorative pieces.
